Christmas Feast 2016

Twas a Thursday prior to Christmas, and all through the halls;
the laughter of agents was heard bouncing off the walls!

Who could ask for a better work family than the amazing folks here at Rector Hayden. We truly care about each other – not just in business transactions – but each other’s lives, families, trials and successes. We are all parents and children and sisters and brothers and friends to one another here – and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Rector Hayden is about family – and family first.

Here are some cute memories from our Christmas Feast this year! If you’re ever thinking about a new career or a brokerage change – these silly and loving folks would love for you to join ours. Or, if you’re ever in need of buying or selling assistance – trust these characters to treat you like their own family.

 Rector Hayden REALTORS® - Christmas Feast 2016

Why yes you may see Donald Trump and Kanye West as well as a few other famous celebrities along the back row…

As always – some of our more colorful agents put together a HILARIOUS skit that could put Saturday Night Live to shame!

THURSDAY DECEMBER 16,2016 – LEXINGTON, KY:  Alex Trebek was welcomed back to host another episode of Celebrity Jeopardy at Rector Hayden on Thursday afternoon. The silver fox was accompanied by “Tricksie,” the ‘Elf-On-The-Shelf’ to help liven up the game a bit.

As always, Santa and Mrs. Claus return as the reigning champions of Celebrity Jeopardy – and their on-screen flirtacious chemistry makes for a ‘jolly’ good time!

Returning for a second chance at success, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-West! Kanye was not thrilled with the papparazzi, asking one young women if she could “just take the photo,” rather than engage in conversation with him. Kim’s assets were apparent as well this afternoon.

Special guests to this year’s competition were Donald Trump, president-elect, and duaghter Ivanka Trump. Ivanka shared with the audience her new fashion jewelry line, themed for reindeer. Mr. Trump began by telling Alex Trebek, “Alex, You’re Fired.”

As contestants faced off, attempting to correctly answer the Jeopardy clues regarding famous Holiday minutiae – Tricksie distracted them with silly string, popping balloons, and at one point attempting to set fire to part of the stage!!!

The Donald impressed the audience with his finest speech stating:

I notice that there are some of us that are not here today. And that is due to them moving over to Keller Williams Name Redacted for Security. I propose we build a wall between Rector Hayden and Keller Williams Name Redacted for Security. And, I’m going to make Keller Williams Name Redacted for Security PAY for that wall.

The audience’s cheers rose to astounding levels, a standing ovation, and some members of the audience wept with adoration.

#OperationMilitaryCheer 2016 was a SUCCESS!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

To all who volunteered and made donations – thank you for supporting Operation Military Cheer in 2016!

DECEMBER 9, 2016 – LEXINGTON, KY

Flurries fell gently on a cold Bluegrass morning as a box truck pulls into the parking lot at the HomeBuilders Association of Lexington (soon to be known as the Building Industry Association of Central Kentucky). A KY National Guardsmen hops out and assists in directing the truck to back up to the brick stoop where Don Sullivan stands waiting to greet them.

Each year the HomeBuilders Association of Lexington and many volunteers come together to support a fantastic charity – OPERATION: Military Cheer. #OMC collects donations of toys and money to help provide Christmas to military families in need across the state of Kentucky. These are family members of both deployed and non-deployed members of the armed forces who need a helping hand during the holiday season.

Lexingtonians brought forth new bicycles, classic play things, fancy tech, the latest and greatest in toys, and so much more to donate for this cause. Volunteers helped bag up the donations and create an assembly line to help load up the box truck. Our donations are then taken to a processing center before being distributed to 16 locations across the state.

Cash donated to the cause goes toward a fund to buy size specific clothes and shoes for kids in these families ( cause we all know how fast kids grow out of stuff! ) and specificly requested items that may not have been donated.

This is the Season of Giving – and what better way to celebrate than to help our neighbors have a little more holiday cheer?

Thank you KY National Guard, HBALexington, Don Sullivan, the Halfhill Auction Group, and all of the other volunteers and donors who helped make wishes come true in 2016!

We feature some of our top agents and listings each month in the luxurious print edition of TOPSinLexington.  However it was fabulous to celebrate even more of our agents in this month’s issue!

Leading the pack of TOPSinLex Series called “Real Estate Rock Stars,” was our very own Mateyoke Group!  Jenny Mateyoke & Heather Kuykendoll are consistent Top Producers – not only for Rector Hayden but also as part of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS.

“The real estate market is really booming in Central Kentucky.  Buyers need to be ready to act quickly and be prepared by getting pre-approved for a mortgage!” – Jenny M.

“Jenny & Heather were great.  We enjoyed working with them every step of the way on selling our home and buying our new home.  We would highly recommend them.  They were very professional and knowledgeable.  You can’t ask for a better team!!” – Kristie & Breck, recent clients.

We’re also very proud of a newer agent with our company, Susan Saunier Hammett, and her featurette in this series as well!  Susan works as part of The Jubilee Team at Rector Hayden, another top producing group.

“Rector Hayden is a great company to work with and their office support staff is absolutely the best!” – Susan H.

Aw, shucks, Susan.  We think you’re pretty awesome, too!!

And guess who else showed up to the party this month – our fantastic auction team – THE HALFHILL AUCTION GROUP.  The Halfhills + John Sanders + Gary Denton (two more fine agents with our company) worked to help bring in donations for the Living Arts & Sciences Center at their event “H’Artful of Fun.”  You can see more photos of that event on the TOPS website by clicking the image below!

May 2016 – Sales Meeting Recap

What a great day to be a Rector Hayden REALTOR!

This month’s meeting had a lot to offer!  From Rector Hayden Mortgage Tips, to upcomming listing networking, to the Halfhill Auction Group’s live demonstration, and a Best Practices session on handling Inspections correctly – we covered quite a bit!  Besides raising over $3k for the American Diabetes Association ( WOOHOO!  –  Read More Here… ) Rector Hayden agents discussed the best legal practices of helping buyers and sellers handle the inspection and negotiation process of a transaction.

In this whirlwind market, our agents are seeing more and more of their peers attempting to cut corners and not play by the rules.  However, Rector Hayden REALTORS stand strong with integrity and the knowledge to take care of our clients by-the-book.  This is proven in our discussion today where – as a team – Rector Hayden agents discussed the best ways to handle issues when it comes to inspections, return periods, addendums, and agents attempting verbal negotiations.  We’re honored to work with such dedicated and educated Realtors.

And also, DID YOU KNOW?

Rector Hayden Mortgage can qualify your client even if they haven’t been on their job for 2 months.  We can EVEN qualify them if they haven’t started their job!  This can be of tremendous help, especially for those moving into the area for work at one of the many major employers in the region!

Our goal as a team for the American Diabetes Association: Step Out to Stop Diabetes Fundraiser is about $7500 dollars (about 3% of the Lexington, KY goal).  And, thanks to the gracious donors, the initiative taken by our agent John Sanders, the awesome Halfhill Auction Team, and Rector Hayden Relocation Director – Whitney Baxter – WE MADE IT HALFWAY TO OUR GOAL!  We received $2400 in donations from our auction this morning.  The rest came in through cash donations and pledges.

Best Practices: How to Handle Inspections

A new series that Rector Hayden is endeavoring to do is a discussion based class to brainstorm the best ways to handle different situations in transactions.  This month, agent Karen Burns led the discussion on Inspections.  It was a great opportunity to talk about issues agents face with timing, requirements, legal documents, and best practices to serve your clients.  As a team, agents discussed their own personal experiences and follies and together we learned from our mistakes and successes.  Integrity and Ethics are core values of being a part of the Rector Hayden team, and through our very successful meeting today we empowered our agents to continue to exemplify those values.

What a great day to be a Rector Hayden REALTOR®!

Thanks to the enthusiastic assistance from our beloved Halfhill Auction Groupwe brought in $3,160 for the American Diabetes Association.  This puts us jsut about halfway to our goal of $7650!! It is one of our core values as a company and a family to support our community as much as possible.  Our agents serve in over 100 different civic and philanthropic roles throughout the area, and we are proud to help support them.

When asked if anyone in the audience knew a family member or friend with Diabetes, nearly every person in attendance raised their hands.  According to the ADA 1.4 million Americans are diagnosed with Diabetes each year.  Our donations will go to funding innovative research and education.

Thanks to the initiative put forth by John Sanders, an agent with our company, we’ve been steadily collecting donations leading up to the June 4th Step Out Walk and 5k presented by the American Diabetes Association at Keeneland.  We invite all family and friends and members of the community to come out and walk or run with us to support this great cause.

“For over 2,000 years, auctioneers have played a critical role in commerce,” said National Auctioneers Association President Mark Rogers, CAI, AARE. “The public, businesses and nations have depended on the professional services of auctioneers for centuries. They have entrusted us with their most valued and prized possessions to sell. We celebrate National Auctioneers Day to commemorate our great profession’s history and celebrate the work for our forefathers who built the foundation for our industry’s future.”

Rector Hayden REALTORS celebrates National Auctioneers Day Today – and we chose to showcase are amazing Auction Team – The Halfhill Auction Group!
