Dia De Los Muertos / Day of the Dead Festival

The Day of the Dead Festival is a true community event bringing together individuals, groups, students and teachers from the Latino and non-Latino communities.   Join the celebration and experience the rich visual, musical, dance and culinary traditions of this holiday that is celebrated in Mexico and parts of Central and South America.  The Festival includes live music and dance performances, traditional food, hands-on crafts, art exhibits and a gallery talk by the artists, a candlelight parade, and an exhibition of altars in the Old Episcopal Burying Ground.

LexPhil Presents: Simplicity

LexPhil welcomes award-winning mezzo-soprano, Sofia Selowsky to Lexington for Simplicity! Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No.4 in B-flat sets the stage for Dominick Argento’s exquisite Casa Guidi for voice and orchestra. Traveling full circle, Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony closes an evening dedicated to the tradition and beauty of orchestral music.

Bourbon, Bites & Blues

A celebration of the best of home: good food, great bourbon and the Lexington Singers Cabaret Ensemble, “A Taste of Kentucky,” features heavy appetizers throughout the evening, live and silent auctions and bourbon tasting. Sample traditional Kentucky fare and the best bourbon the Commonwealth has to offer.

Black Jacket Symphony

The Black Jacket Symphony offers a unique concert experience by recreating classic albums in a live performance setting with a first class lighting and video production. A selected album is performed in its entirety by a group of handpicked musicians specifically selected for each album. Featuring Pink Floyd.

Friday Night Live at Woodford Reserve

Spend an autumn evening enjoying bourbon, tours and live music at the Woodford Reserve Distillery. Every Friday night in September the distillery is extending their hours to let visitors experience a different side of Woodford Reserve. Each evening will feature tours, live music, small bites and other dinner options. A mixology experience featuring a signature Woodford Reserve cocktail will be offered each Friday evening (separate Mixology ticket must be purchased).

The Musical World of Harry Potter

The Lexington Legends are presenting a unique on-field concert experience for fans to enjoy–the Musical World of Harry Potter performed by the Musicians of the Lexington Philharmonic. In a two act, one hour and forty-five-minute performance, the Lexington Philharmonic, led by conductor Scott Terrell, will fill the stadium with the sounds of musical scores and excerpts from the Harry Potter films from a stage located on the field of Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

HarvestLEX 2017

The Bluegrass Chapter of the KRA will host its inaugural 2017 Harvest Lex (presented by Visit LEX and Beyond Grits) in partnership with Manchester Music Hall.

Lexington’s finest restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries will be offering up tastes of their best harvest, in celebration of our community of great food and great people! 

Proceeds will benefit Kentucky ProStart and FoodChain Lexington.
