Holiday Market, Holiday LIVE! and Lexington’s Official Tree Lighting Festival all take place on a Saturday this year. Lexington officially kicks off the holiday season with the lighting of the city tree – a tradition that dates to 1913. Festivities begin at 2:00 p.m. and continue through the afternoon with food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, live music and more setting the mood for a delightful day downtown. The traditional tree lighting takes place at 6:30 p.m. Santa Claus will flip the switch. (859) 335-8640.
