October is filled with TREATS!
Local scenic beauty, Keeneland racing, fall festivals, trick-or-treaters and more – there’s SO MUCH to enjoy in Lexington and Central Kentucky in October! Here are some of our favorites.
Parents: plan your vacation to Lexington around a unique horse experience for your children. Explore the area on your own during the day while your children ride, learn about stable management, equine care and the history of the horse and explore behind the scenes at the Kentucky Horse Park. Open to all experience levels ages 8 to 16. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. leaving evenings are free for family activities.
Discovery Night: Dogs on Patrol
Meet the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police Canine Unit – a group of highly trained dogs, able to detect explosives, search buildings, sniff out illegal drugs, help with patrols, and even apprehend criminals! Think your dog can do that? Come learn more about these amazing animals and the officers that work with them! While you’re here, meet some lovable animals from the Lexington Humane Society and create some unique canine art to take home!
