Extreme Mustang Makeover

An exciting evening of freestyle competition and adoption! All events throughout the weekend are FREE except for the finals performance where tickets can be purchased on-site.

 

Adult trainers, ages 18 and over, will compete in this 100-wild horse training competition with their assigned mustang in a series of preliminary classes for a spot in the Top-10 freestyle finals performance. All adult mustangs will be available for adoption after the finals performance via public competitive bid. Representatives from the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse & Burro Program will be on site to approve interested adopters.

Lexington Fireworks (4th of July)

Fireworks (10:00pm)

The Fourth of July fireworks will be launched from the Arboretum, with viewing areas again this year surrounding Kroger Field (formerly Commonwealth Stadium). Kroger Field will not be open, but parking lots around the stadium will be available as a place to park and watch the fireworks.

The Arboretum will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 at 8pm. All vehicles must be moved from the Arboretum’s parking lot by 8pm or they will be towed.

Lexington Fourth of July Street Fair

Street Festival (9:00am-6:00pm)

The Parade will be at 2PM, Presented by Metro PCS along MAIN STREET

Complimentary parking provided by LexPark in the following garages on July 4: The Square garage, Transit Center garage, Courthouse garage and Helix garage will be open and free to the public! (5am Tuesday, July 4 – 5am Wednesday, July 5)

Join us for the 41st Annual Bluegrass 10,000 on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 7:30am. Our certified 10,000 meter course weaves through the main business and historic district in downtown Lexington. The race is is part of Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival sponsored by Lexington Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Lexington Corporation.

NEW IN 2017 – TEAM PRICING & FASTEST FIVE COMPETITION

We’ve added team pricing and a Fastest Five Competition in 2017. Individual registration is $35 but for teams of 5 or more team members only pay $25 each. Teams can be as large as you want to make them. The Fastest Five Competition will be the cumulative scores/times of the top 5 members of a team compared with the same from all other teams. Why go it alone? Start a team or join an existing team you might be affiliated with. CLICK HERE for a list of existing teams or to start a team of your own.

Runners participating as part of a team are eligible for both individual awards and the Fastest Five team award.
